Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) sets the rules for using DDSEMail. In short: use the service lawfully, send only mail you're permitted to send, don't abuse or attack the platform, and protect the patient data you handle. Violations can lead to suspension or termination. This AUP is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service.
Scope
This AUP applies to everyone who uses DDSEMail and is incorporated into our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.
Prohibited content and conduct
You agree not to use DDSEMail to:
- Send unsolicited bulk or commercial email (spam), or violate the CAN-SPAM Act or comparable anti-spam laws.
- Send messages with forged headers, falsified sender identity, or otherwise deceptive routing information.
- Distribute malware, phishing, or fraudulent content, or attempt to deceive recipients into disclosing credentials or funds.
- Harass, threaten, defame, or transmit unlawful, infringing, or obscene material.
- Infringe intellectual-property rights (see our DMCA policy).
- Violate the privacy or data-protection rights of any person, including improper handling of protected health information.
Security and integrity
You agree not to:
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service except through our coordinated disclosure process (see security.txt).
- Circumvent authentication, access accounts or data that aren't yours, or interfere with service to others.
- Impose an unreasonable load, attempt denial-of-service, or use automated means to abuse the platform.
- Resell or sublicense the service except as expressly permitted in writing.
Protected health information
Where DDSEMail acts as a Business Associate under a signed Business Associate Agreement, you remain the covered entity responsible for using the service in compliance with HIPAA, including obtaining any patient authorizations your own practice requires.
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or take other action we deem appropriate, with or without notice depending on severity. We may also report unlawful activity to the authorities. Nothing here limits remedies available under the Terms.

Changes
